15th NID Workshop
Last Updated <Abril 1, 2019

Madrid, Spain From  2005-01-31  to  2005-02-02

Work Plan of the NID Working Group on Mono-Molecular Electronics

Coordinators: Christian Joachim (CNRS) & Gerhard Meyer (IBM Research Centre)

WG on M2e Mailing List

The scope is to create a forum for those in Europe interested in the creation of a new computing technology inside a single molecule, what is called mono-molecular electronics. Our WG will be based on activities like seminars during the NID meeting, tutorials on a specific topic and the building of roadmaps in picotechnology for the computer industry.

The following topics will be covered during the period:
  • Atomic scale technology (picotechnology) for computing within a single molecule
  • Nano-communication (classical & quantum information with and within a molecule)
  • Chemistry (large scale molecules, specific functional groups…)
  • Monumentalisation (architecture, classical and quantum design)
  • Roadmaping: opportunities, risks and barriers
